My name is Alyssa Figueroa (she/her), and I’m passionate about working with movement individuals and organizations to create everything from agendas and meetings to strategic plans and multi-day convenings that are effective, inspiring, and grounded in a thorough assessment of organizational capacity. 

 

I am a Puerto Rican, Italian, and Syrian cis woman from a financially poor background, who was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. I became politically active as a first-generation college student in 2010, and I have been working on movement campaigns ever since. I have helped pass meaningful legislation, stopped dangerous legislation, won funding for initiatives, stopped harmful corporate practices, and raised wages of workers. In addition to managing campaigns, I have led coalition, communications, development, and operations work at organizations, and, therefore, bring a comprehensive outlook to my process. My goal is to ensure that you and your organization create meaningful change in a way that fully supports staff members’ work/life harmony, and ultimately, movement work for the long haul. My strength is designing and facilitating (as well as coaching others to design and facilitate) processes, meetings, convenings, etc. that result in plans that feel both impactful and achievable. My approach is rooted in the values of sustainability, transparency, equity, and love.
